Caulfield Primary Early Childhood Centre is a not-for-profit, incorporated kindergarten open to all kinder aged children in the community.
EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTRE - KINDERGARTEN
The centre has programs for both 3 and 4 year olds. It is managed by Caulfield Primary School in partnership with Early Childhood Management Services (ECMS).
The kinder provides a varied and active play-based program designed to help children grow and develop confidence so that they start school with a positive experience of learning with others and strong relationships with trusted adults.
Teachers at the kinder are trained in early childhood education. They provide a planned and developmentally appropriate program based on a child-centred philosophy and the individual needs of the children. The kindergarten is a warm and welcoming place where parents are encouraged to participate as volunteers. It is located in Glenhuntly Road, Caulfield South, in a spacious, fully-renovated, heritage building with a large landscaped outdoor play area. Children and their families benefit from being co-located with the Primary School and school-kinder interaction is actively encouraged. For example kinder children use the school library, while Japanese and other teachers visit from the school. There are also visits to the Prep classrooms and assembly. The school grounds are enjoyed by all children and their families every afternoon.
Our Early Childhood Centre is regulated by the Department of Education and Training, who contribute a partial subsidy for each child in the year 4 program. Payment of fees and fundraising contribute the majority of the funds needed to maintain and operate the centre.
